Basically the amount of energy in the food you eat.

Another sign that you may want to think about losing weight is if you are finding that your clothes no longer fit you. Of course, it is normal for some individuals to gain weight or to have their weight fluctuate, but you may want to think about joining a weight loss program or developing your own weight loss plan if you find that your clothes no longer fit or are difficult to get into. Unfortunately, many individuals do not just have a small weight gain. Small weight gain often leads to more, which could have a negative impact on your health. It is also important to mention the cost of new clothes, which you may not be able to afford.
If you find many simple tasks or activities, like walking up a flight of stairs, difficult, you may want to think about losing weight. Of course, becoming out of breath from simple activities may not necessarily just be a weight problem, but there is a good chance that it is. When you lose weight, even just a little bit of it, you will likely find it easier to do many of the activities that you love or even the tasks that you need to do, like take your kids to the park.
It is advised that you consult your physician before the start of any treatment to burn fat.
The food burnt in your body is converted to forms of energy.
So therefore when you consume food, the food is broken down and stored as adipose fat or glycogen
(which are stored in liver and muscles cells) to be burnt for energy later.
Your body prefers to burn glycogen as its first choice of energy rather than body fat when you expand
energy such as exercising.
The more muscles you have in your body, the more calories you will burn.
The more calories you burnt, the more weight you will lose.
Some people raise their metabolic rate by eating many smaller meals a day instead of three big meals.
By eating several 5-6 times a day, your insulin level is also better regulated and less insulin will
then be converted to adipose fat.
So how can you burn more calories and further raise your metabolism to naturally burn more calories and body fats?
A simple and effective way to burn more calories is to build more muscles as explained above and exercise to
expand energy and thus burning more calories in the process.
I have come across the fact that mild exercises are human’s best friend. You can easily burn hundreds of fat
with regular exercises. These exercises comprise of simple stretching techniques so as to show significant effect.
Exercise is a far more potent weapon against fat than changing your diet –
it literally burns it off you. If you exercise enough, you can be burning more calories than you could
ever hope to consume, leaving you free to fulfil that old diet promise of eating absolutely anything you want.
I’m sure you walk somewhere at some point in your day – jog instead.
And you could no doubt manage a few sit-ups while you’re watching the TV of an evening.
If you have a dog, take it for longer walks – this has the added bonus of making your dog very happy.
You see, the best forms of exercise are the ones you can do every day, like going up stairs instead of taking the lift, or parking towards the back of the car park when you go to the supermarket. These are easy changes to make that take very little time and effort, but can begin to pay huge dividends quite quickly when it comes to your weight. Then, once you’ve made that first step towards fitness, it’s much easier to find the energy and motivation to really go for it.
You probably didn't know it, but one of the best times to lose weight is while you sleep.
That's because the human body is designed by nature to repair itself during the hours we are sleeping.
Our bodies use sleep to repair and strengthen our muscles, joints and other parts that get tired and damaged
through use and exertion during waking hours.
This restorative process uses energy to rebuild lean muscle mass
and to help rebuild other kinds of body tissue.
That is worth repeating -- this rebuilding process uses energy -- and if the rebuilding process is running
smoothly and efficiently, that energy comes from places in our body where energy is stored -- from fat.
2. Eat Less Food More Often.
Try to eat smaller meals more often instead of 3 large meals every day.
Smaller meals eaten more regularly will keep your metabolism high and will help you
to burn more fat. You could divide your large meals into 5 - 6 smaller meals per day for example.
3. Eat the Right Types of Fats.
Fats are very important for you, and not all fats are unhealthy as well.
Try to have oily fish for example which contains healthy omega 3 fats, instead of unhealthy saturated fats
from fried food.
4. Don’t go Hungry.
You should not go hungry or starve yourself if you want to burn fat.
Starving yourself will just prompt the body to slow down it’s metabolism as it thinks
there’s a famine, so will instead store fat. By avoiding hunger, your body will not store food as extra fat as well.
